THE TEAM:

The Cheerleading team will cheer for our St. Charles Borromeo basketball teams at home games and possibly other St. Charles events!  Please note that our program will focus on the basics, emphasizing cheering, jumping, chanting, with the goal of providing excitement and fun during our basketball games. We will not be utilizing extensive and difficult stunts. However, coaches will be properly trained on techniques and mechanics for any stunts performed to ensure children’s safety.

We will have 2 separate squads this season broken into specific ranges allowing each group to perform more age-appropriate routines, dances, and cheers.  We may adjust the squads based on the numbers at each grade level.
  • The season starts in mid-October and continues through the end of February. Practices will be either Tuesdays or Wednesdays.  Please note that we may need to adjust dates and times as needed some weeks based on gym availability.
  • We will have a parent meeting in mid-October in McCusker Hall (TBD). We ask that at least 1 parent attend with their child.  We will be measuring the children for uniforms and going over all the information needed for the season.
  • The team cheers for St. Charles CYO home basketball games on Friday evenings or Sundays.

The registration and uniform cost is $100, which does not include sneakers but will include all the uniform pieces and accessories (socks. bloomers, bodysuit, skirt, shirt, and bow).  Children will need to purchase their own white sneakers.

Required Medical Form for participation in any sports programs at St. Charles.

This physical form must be signed by a doctor and submitted to the St. Charles school office to be eligible to participate in any sports programs in the 2023-24 school year. One form per school year will cover participation in all sports.  The form must be submitted prior to the start of the sport your child will be playing.  Your child’s doctor will complete the form if they had their annual physical in the past year.  Therefore, you should not need to make a separate appointment to get this form completed if your child has been seen in the past year for their annual physical.
