We are excited for our 2024-2025 cheer season. We thank everyone for your ongoing support and look forward to having a successful season!
Children in K through 8th grade and attending St. Charles Borromeo School or attending the St. Charles Borromeo Religious Education Program are eligible to participate. Enrollment will be verified to confirm eligibility. Registration by Oct. 10th is required.
This
required medical form will need to be completed by the first practice in order to participate in St. Charles Cheer. This physical form must be signed by a doctor and submitted to the St. Charles school office to be eligible to participate. One form per school year will cover participation in all sports for the 2024-25 school year. Your child’s doctor will complete the form if they had their annual physical in the past year. Therefore, you should not need to make a separate appointment to get this form completed if your child has been seen in the past year for their annual physical. Please do not wait until the last minute to get this completed as it may take a couple of weeks.
The Cheerleading team will cheer for St. Charles Borromeo Basketball teams at home games on Friday evenings or Sundays and possibly other St. Charles events!
Our program will focus on the basics, emphasizing cheering, jumping, and chanting, with the goal of providing excitement and fun during our basketball games. We will not be utilizing extensive and difficult stunts. However, coaches will be properly trained on techniques and mechanics for any stunts performed to ensure children’s safety.
We plan to have 2 separate squads broken into specific grade ranges allowing each group to perform more age-appropriate routines, dances, and cheers.
The registration and uniform cost is $100, which does not include sneakers but will include all the uniform pieces and accessories (socks. bloomers, bodysuit, skirt, shirt, and bow). Children will need to purchase their own white sneakers.
The season starts in mid-October and continues through the end of February. Practice days are TBD.
We will have a parent meeting in mid-October in McCusker Hall (TBD). We ask that at least 1 parent attend with their child. We will be measuring the children for uniforms and going over all the information needed for the season.
NEW COACHES NEEDED
Our volunteer coaches are critical to our program’s success. We are seeking 1 or 2 assistant coaches. Coaches will need to take a Virtus training course and get fingerprinted. More details will be provided to those interested. Coaching is rewarding and is a great way to get involved in our parish.
