THE TEAM:
The Cheerleading team will cheer for our St. Charles Borromeo basketball teams at home games and possibly other St. Charles events! Please note that our program will focus on the basics, emphasizing cheering, jumping, chanting, with the goal of providing excitement and fun during our basketball games. We will not be utilizing extensive and difficult stunts. However, coaches will be properly trained on techniques and mechanics for any simple gymnastics or stunts performed to ensure safety of all the children.
Children in Kindergarten through 8th grade and attending St. Charles Borromeo School or attending the St. Charles Borromeo Religious Education Program are eligible to participate.
- The season starts in November and continues through the end of February. Practices will be two times a week, either Mondays, Tuesdays, or Wednesdays. Please note that we may need to adjust dates and times as needed some weeks based on gym availability.
- We will have a parent meeting in mid-October in McCusker Hall (TBD). We ask that at least 1 parent attend with their child. We will be measuring the children for uniforms and going over all the information needed for the season.
- The team cheers for St. Charles CYO home basketball games on Friday evenings or Sundays.
- The registration cost is $60, which does not include the uniform, sneakers, and accessories (socks. bloomers, bodysuit, skirt, and shirt). If you were a member of the cheer team in the past and have a uniform that fits you, then you will not need to purchase a new one. For new members, you will need to purchase a uniform with accessories for approx. $70. We have some used uniforms available for a reduced price as well. Children will need to purchase their own white sneakers. In addition, we may coordinate an additional optional fundraiser to help pay for the uniform cost for those interested in participating.
We will monitor and implement any necessary safety protocols based on government and diocesan requirements throughout the season. If we need to cancel the season for any reason, you will be refunded your registration fees.
